Acer Aspire E1-571-6837 Review
We are going to take a look at the Acer Aspire E1-571-6837 15.6-inch laptop priced, at the this time, at 510$. This laptop comes with a glossy black cover witch although looks very good, it will surely be a big fingerprint magnet and will get scratched easily. Apart from the cover it has a very simple and sturdy design. On the inside there is also a glossy silver section underneath the keyboard witch based on it’s color will hide any scratches that might appear. It also comes with a full sized keyboard with a numeric keypad witch will help with fast and effective data input if needed.
The Acer Aspire E1-571-6837 comes with a very impressive 3rd Generation Intel Core i5 3230M with 2.6 GHz, witch with Turbo Boost Technology can go up to 3.2GHz. This feature can be very helpful in case of a high demand in processing power, like for example file compression, or photo editing. This is a very good processor for this price range and it’s obvious they have had to cut down on the RAM and graphics card to get it here. This is probably the Achilles’s heel of this laptop, the 4GB of RAM. I highly recommend a RAM upgrade for this model to be able to use it to it’s full potential. Don’t get me wrong, 4GB RAM is good enough for everyday usage, but then, why would you also have such a powerful processor on it if you will never need it’s full capabilities.
I have done a search for the RAM upgrade capabilities of the Acer Aspire E1-571-6837. It has a maximum memory capacity of 8GB, it has 2 memory slots, of witch as standard it has only 1 occupied with a 4GB RAM stick. If you do decide to do a RAM upgrade on this laptop I have also added a link to a RAM module that is compatible with it.
As for the other features of this laptop I have to say they are actually really good. Yes it may not have a dedicated graphics card, but it has the next best thing, it has the Intel HD Graphics 4000 witch together with the 3rd generation Inter I5 processor combine to make an acceptable gaming experience. The storage capabilities are also on par with it’s competitors with 500GB of space. It also comes with a 8X Double-Layer DVD Drive for writing capabilities. Optical drives are slowly becoming less common on laptops since Ultrabooks started hitting the market.
The only thing missing from the entire package is Bluetooth connectivity. This will make synchronizing with your mobile devices more difficult because you will need a special cable. Other then that it has plenty of connectivity options: 3 USB 3.0 Ports, Ethernet, WiFi, VGA and HDMI connectivity.
