HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr Review

This most interesting laptop from HP is quite a good choice if you’re in the market for a decent laptop for a relatively low price. You won’t have to pay a whole lot for this one (a mere 380 dollars) and it will most certainly be worth that price. This interesting HP laptop is possibly the best choice for people on a budget looking for a computer for students or for casual users.

When you think HP, you usually think reliability. That is how I feel, at least. Growing up, wherever I went I couldn’t help but notice that they all used HP products. That gave me the impression that they were a good company. After finally reaching a certain level of understanding, I realized that their products are truly wonderful.

Who is it for? discussing who would benefit most from this laptop...

  • Student
If you're looking for a laptop that will fit students, then look no further. This little HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr laptop is more than fitting in that domain. Its hardware isn't all that strong, but I doubt you will require something much stronger than this for any sort of program. Also, the 320 GB of space that this laptop provides should more than come in handy for your file-storing needs.

  • Casual User
The HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr should be useful for any and all casual users. Not only does it provide a great deal of power and speed for your everyday tasks, but it also looks great, to top it all off. The processor of this laptop should be more than strong enough to handle all sorts of tasks such as web-browsing, music, movies and even a few games.

  • Business User
If you're a business user, I can't really say that this computer will fit you. Maybe if you upgrade the RAM first so that you would have 4 GB instead of 2 then you may have enough as to use this laptop to its fullest. However, if you DO require performance in your line of work, then I strongly suggest considering another laptop. There are better options for business use than the HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr.

  • Power User
The HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr isn't exactly a laptop fit for power-users, so I wouldn't really recommend using it. Try it if you will, but I don't believe you will accomplish anything aside from a bit of wasted cash.

  • Gaming
If you're interesting in a good gaming laptop, I suggest taking the price of this laptop and add 1000 dollars to it. If you do that, you will wind up around the good gaming laptops. The HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr is not a gaming laptop.

PROs Vs. CONs

One of the main things that determines you to really want this laptop is its design. That is an important factor to keep in mind when wanting to get a new laptop, as you will most likely be using it for a while. Also, if you're a touchpad user, some people may find it a bit annoying that it has a different surface than the plane one. However, this often ends up being more practical as it doesn't allow the natural grease from fingers to dirty it so easily. Therefore, in the long run, this laptop will provide you with a decent amount of power and reliability for a relatively small price.

From what I gathered, this laptop doesn't really have any solid disadvantages, apart from those limitations it has due to its price group. Other than that, the only true minor design flaw is the placement of the DVD slot. It has this plastic extension all the way to the bottom, same as mine, and will thus seem somewhat flimsy at touch. I wouldn't recommend rough-handling it, as it may break if you touch it the wrong way.

User Reviews: what others think?

There are quite a few user reviews and they all seem to think the same thing: You get what you pay for. I tend to agree with their point of view and add that, while this laptop may not be able to do as much as others, it is still pretty powerful and can get you out of a bind if you find yourself without a computer for pretty cheap. One thing that caught my attention was a reviewer that said that this machine keeps Blue-Screening on them. However, since no other person reported this issue, I assume it would be just an isolated case. However, said reviewer did claim that he tried 2 laptops of the same model and the problem persisted.

Summary

This HP Compaq Presario cq58-a10nr isn't exactly a laptop that can satisfy many user demographics. However, if you're a student looking for something cheap, a casual user who doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for a laptop or even a business user that doesn't demand a lot of power, then this laptop is more than good enough for you. It won't provide you with a lot of performance, but it will most certainly give you enough as to do your job.
